Boy #7 (24
pages)
The Great Thunder Circus: Part 1 of 6
Gill,
Poetica and Bookman are invited by their school gym instructor to a weekend
of fun and relaxation at his brother's circus. But their cheerful mood
fades soon after they arrive and learn that the circus is facing financial
difficulties. A fatal mishap involving an aerialist during a performance
has brought negative publicity and resulted in decreased attendance to
the shows. Plus, something is upsetting Grape, a star performing gorilla,
and may jeopardize his act. All these contribute to a tense situation
at the circus as it prepares for the evening's premiere performance in
the county.

The Great Thunder Circus: Part 2 of 6
The
kids spend the rest of the afternoon at the circus midway and meet their
classmate Stymie, who has come watch the performance. The four kids wander
the grounds, and soon learn that the situation at the circus is deeper
and more mysterious than it appears: a story of the ill-fated aerialist's
ghost spooking Grape the gorilla, a rumour of his return in tonight's
show, a fortune-teller's prediction of danger. These ominous warnings
has Stymie unnerved that is, until he meets a romantic interest:
a young aerialist named Isbel.
